Did you guys hear about the PAX orgy?

Kotaku
Joystiq
Destructoid

This simultanously sounds like both the best and worst idea I’ve ever heard. I was obviously intrigued by this event as I am on my way to Seattle for PAX Prime 2010 this weekend. So I enlisted the help of my good great friend tanner4105 (who is going to be making 365 beats this year. Track his progress and check out the new beats I will be stealing) and we had a little fun.

http://www.beefyness.com/mp3/Beefy-PAXXX.mp3

Share the above link or stream it at the bottom of this post. Boosh! Hope to see you all (shirtless or otherwise) at PAX this weekend!

Lyrics

Been planning all year, been saving all week
We’re gonna load the truck and we’re headed for the sea
I know who I wanna meet, I know what I wanna see
Ain’t my first rodeo, you could say I prestige
Driving cross the pass, got my album on blast, and a cooler full of snacks
Maybe when we’re done getting berrels of ass
We can take off our masks and maybe check out PAX

PAX is fun… but I came for the orgy (x4)

I gotta buzz for your Lightyear, whisper in your ear
There’s a lot of dudes here, and they’re drinking all my rootbeer
I can’t stand it, put down the pomegranate
Tell em that I’m trying to take this lady to another planet
And the four eyed stare really throwing my groove
They know I don’t approve, but they just don’t wanna move
They wanna see the Spartan Helmet Deep Fat Fryer
Put it in a bun while ya sing, call it Oscar Mayer
Pole to hole ratio is expectedly wack
Are there more chicks in the back? Where’s the manager at?
I’d like to file a complaint, but I don’t need to stress him
I guess what I am saying is I think I learned my lesson
The girls showing up ain’t exactly Bayonetta
But they gotta a lot of hair so I guess I’ll see ya later
Saw that someone pulled a camera so I’m out with a flash
Found a three day pass, man I’ll see ya at PAX

PAX is fun… but I came for the orgy (x4)

Updates All Up In You

Hey internets! Lots of cool stuff going on and I don’t type it all down enough. I’m sorry.

Firstly, my Nerdy South brother ytcracker just put out a new 8-bit awesome video for “the link“, animated by doctor octoroc! It’s ridiculously cool! Peep game!

Speaking of doctors — my very favorite PhD, Doctor Popular, along with crashfaster and 8Bit Betty have put out music inspired by their game KnifeTank titled KnifeTank (The Albumhole). Check out tracks three and four as I feature in both! It was really great to work with Doc Pop again for the first time since Rolling Doubles. Also be sure to check out the game the album is based on! It’s really quite enjoyable. The entire album is a delight for Doc fans and those who enjoy chiptune tracks and you should for sure tell your friends! (It was also recently featured on the latest Radio Free Hipster! Boosh!)

To those of you excited for the August 18th show with Kirby Krackle, please prepare for sadness: The 8/18 show has been canceled! :(
I am very sorry, but we will try to set a new date just as soon as possible. I promise!

My friend Shael Riley (along with his Double Ice Backfire) have started something I haven’t seen done in the nerd music community. He has started an Amazon backed KickStarter. Basically, you can donate to the creation and distribution of their first full album. The more you donate, you cooler shit you can claim once the project is complete, but you can still donate as little as $1. The beauty is that it’s run through Amazon, so hopefully you’re tech savoy enough to know the purchasing process (if not, why are you on this website? Hi [family member name]!) Those of you not familiar Songs From The Pit put out last year need to get on the goddamn ball! Everyone in my circle has heard the EP about 50 times without skipping a track*. You won’t be disappointed! So help my brother out!

[*the EP was put out on cassette tape, so technically skipping tracks wasn't really an option, but we wouldn't have even if we could.]

In the meantime I’ve been working on the next free EP. I also decided what I’m going to title the next full album. I’ve been playing around with After Effects lately so don’t be surprised if you see a lot of dumb vids on my youtube soon. I’m writing up a little review of The Rondo Brother’s & Motion Man’s latest The Foreign Globester but don’t let my laziness keep you for checking out a truly spectacular album. Until next time friends, have a good one!

Hope you guys dig it. I know I do! This was Joe’s first music video project and I think he did a stellar job. Don’t be surprised if we do a bunch more of these! Great Reviews Keep Coming!

This has been a pretty great couple of weeks my dear reader! Sooooo much love has been coming in for With Sprinkles that I am overwhelmed with both thoughts of success and my eventual downfall. You will be the death of me, my sweet, sweet Internet.

Z dug it [hipsterplease], Mr. Silvers is a fan [Wired GeekDad], and these people dug it too! King of the Nerds, GameMusic4All, and Nerd-News. Some of the tracks were also featured on the Mediocre Show as well as the GeekDad HipTrax, and I’ve done interviews with my pals at Seattle-Geekly as well as Radio Free Gamer (though it has not been posted on iTunes yet… I will keep you posted!) I’ve also been getting silly crazy love on the Twitter and it’s been incredible!

I’m sorry for not doing more shows you guys. I really want to. Honest. It’s just that irl is set to handcore difficulty and the Tri-Cities is just TOO FAR AWAY FROM EVERYWHERE!!! Sorry… that happens sometimes. The good news is that this won’t keep me from shows! I have at least one gig for sure I’ll be able to share in just a day or two and more coming this summer. mc chris, MC Lars, and ytcracker are coming to the El Corazon in Seattle June 1st and you would be a damn fool not to attend! I’m going to trek up there with the game store girl and our homies Kory and Joe and we will all give you hugs probably. Also this Saturday at the Blue Moon Tavern, Northwest’s own Death Star will have a CD release with fellow Nerdcore For Life superstar Ultraklystron! Stay tuned as shows get booked and keep buying the album so I can get to Nerdapalooza. For reals guys, the outlook on Beef in the FL is looking good. Keep up the strong work guys!

For those of you who are really desperate to lure me to Orlando with the hopes of butchering me so that you may obtain my spirit warrior, you can always make an donation to the Get Beefy to Nerdapalooza cause. Like any good sellout, I’m willing to fly cross country to be beaten so long as you’re willing to pay for it! Smiles times!

Ok, now a word about pre-orders… there are only about 5 left from the first printing. After the first print (which should come into tomorrow) sells out, all new orders will have to wait for the second printing. So if you want to make sure you have a copy of With Sprinkles in your hand ASAP be sure to pre-order now. If you plan on going to the chris, lars, yt show I can even hand deliver it. Now that’s service! If you’re the type that prefers their music in mp3 format, I’m please to announce that With Sprinkles is now on AmazonMP3 (itunes coming soon)

That is all for now. Thanks to everyone who has been loving the new album. That just makes me love you all the more!

With Sprinkles out now!

Well well well, what do we have here?

Boosh baby!
With Sprinkles, my third studio album, is now avaliable for pre-sale! Hooooray! As the album gets sent to the printers, you can still download the digital copy so that you can listen while you wait. TECHNOLOGY! You can also just download the digital version if you’re into that kind of thing. The album is not on Amazon or iTunes yet, but it is on Bandcamp. I haven’t used the Bandcamps before, so we’ll work through the newness together.

I hope you dig it. Be sure to show some love to Mustin, c64, and tanner4105 when you get a chance because they busted their ass on this album. Also be sure to check out the works of excellent artists ytcracker, Dual Core, MC Lars, Schaffer The Darklord, Dr. Awkward, and Epic-1. They spend a majority of the album outshining me. How dare they, amirite?

It’s taken a long time, but look! You finally have new Beefy tracks to listen to! Yay!

Chances are pretty good I’ll be keeping you posted on further developments, but as for now: buy my album plz

thank you <3

New info on With Sprinkles plus E for Everyone and Unlimited!

E-gads man! So much has been happening over here lately I don’t know where to begin! I suppose the best place to start is with news that With Sprinkles will be available for pre-sale any day now! It’s taken almost two years, but I finally have a new album’s worth of material for you to hopefully enjoy. In anticipation for With Sprinkles I have done two things.

1) Made a video single for “Geek Out”

Track number 5 on the album; number 1 in your hearts. The beat was produced by Mustin, who himself has just put out one hell of a youtube vid. It took me a really long time to record this track because it was so layered and there we’re a lot of little bits that needed to be recorded. Combine that with that fact that I’m extremely lazy and you get a better picture as to why it’s taken 2 years to get the album out.

2) Rolling Doubles is on sale for $5

By now, most of you have picked up your copy of Rolling Doubles through Amazon, iTunes, at a show, or via bit torrents, but in case you were left in the dust and want to catch up with this whole nerdcore thing you’ve been hearing so much about, now is your chance. At Bandcamp you can download high quality digital files and you can stream preview each track. But the whole thing is only $5. It would be silly to pass on these savings!

As excited as I am for the new album to drop, I am equally as excited about albums that have just dropped from some friends of mine. Ok… I am possibly more excited for my own album, but that’s only because I’m self-centered and selfish.

E For Everyone is the latest from Seattle’s own Kirby Krackle. For the unaware, they do nerd rock a la Shael Riley or Jonathan Coulton but with more pop and more references to the Fantastic Four. This is album first and foremost for comic book nerds, with tracks like “Ring Capacity”, “On and On”, “Can I Watch You”, and “Great Lakes Avengers” making me want to run to my long box and remember the good times. KK also reps for the gamers, with fantastic opening track “Vault 101″ tackling the hardships of Fallout 3 and “Take it From Me” showing love to Capcom’s favorite blue robot boy. There were only two tracks on the album I wasn’t in love with: “Secret Identity” and “Dusty Cartridges and Long Boxes” because they come off as too happy and too silly respectively. I can get behind the kind of silly involved with having Uatu come onto me via funk song, but not the kind of silliness involved in track 10. Lastly, my very favorite tracks are “Henchmen” (if they say they weren’t partly inspired by The Venture Brothers I will call them liars to their face!) and “Going Home” (which may be the best –and only– con-song I’ve ever heard). The album is $10 plus shipping and the boys are where all the good comic action is. So if there’s a comic convention near you make sure you check out my boys in Kirby Krackle.

On a personal note, I must also mention that currently my biggest regret is being a lazy ass and not jumping on the opportunity to be featured on the track “Roll Over.” Don’t get me wrong, GMK The Great did a fantastic and entertaining job and should be congratulated for putting in a great performance, but it should have been me! Maybe next time lol

The other new CD in my car holds the work of Dr. Awkward with his new release Unlimited. I screwed up when burning my disk, so the first track on my copy is “Timid”, which I’m ok with since I think the best of this album is at the end and beginning in my opinion. I love Doc Awk’s flow and performance on each and every track. My favs include “DualShAwks” (even though it references the old and horrible Dane Cook, I feel Awk is making it his own) [I'm a goddamn idiot and I confused my lewd hand signs. I knew Doc was better than that. Stupid, fat Beefy!], “Fireflies”, and the title track “Unlimited.” Doc likes to rap about females… a lot. I found that my only real issue with the album was that I wanted some more varied content. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve written a billion songs about girls and I think it’s an extremely valid topic for discussion in any musical form, but after “Red Queen”, “Catch”, “Be My”, and “Otaku Girl” I found myself hitting the skip button around round 3. This is only Dr. Awkward’s second album and he’s still exploring the space of his own creativity. Invest now. That way you can be one of the cool kids in the future saying “Pffft.. man I liked Doc Awk before he was all mainstream and being talked about on Beefy’s blog and shit.” The very best part about the album is that it’s FREE. For reals. 100% download-that-shit-right-now free! Tell ‘em Beefy sent ya and it’ll drop 60%. Saving you a cool $0. You are welcome.

Also, this just in, I’m opening up for Billy the Fridge and MC Frontalot at The High Dive this Saturday! Better start doing my rap stretches! $8 Advanced/$10 at the door. 21+. Action getting started around 9. I will be drunk around 10. <3

Vision Quest, Zero Day, and Other Stuff

What?? Have I had a website this whole time? For reals? That’s insane. And you’re reading this? Aren’t you already my Facebook fan? Well I guess I might as well post something.

So you know how I make raps? Well I made a new one for my buddy Mustin’s new EP called Vision Quest. That’s right. A new song. Because it’s been about 845762 years since Rolling Doubles came out, and I’m convinced most think that I’m dead. Not the case. As proof I again point you towards Vision Quest, which is the host of my track “You’ll Never Get Away With This.” That song is fire. No doubt about it. The rest of the EP is sick and ill and “illick” as well. The best part is that if you buy the album, Mustin will be able to get his eyes checked up and get some much needed contacts. As readers of my site I know you are good people, so why not help out a good cause and get some cool new music while you’re at it? I dare say it makes almost too much sense. As you should know, Mustin handles a big part of the production on With Sprinkles, so think of this entire EP as an auditory sample of things to come!

Speaking of new songs featuring Beefy…

Have you guys heard Zero Day yet? For the three of you that said “No” with the undeniable sense of shame in your voice, then I will go ahead and point you in the direction you should follow. The album is Front’s latest, and arguably his greatest. I’m in love with it, and not just because me and Schaffer do a guest spot (that fact merely increased my love) and based on twitter action I’d say most people feel the same way. My favorite tracks include First World Problem, Charisma Potion, A Little Bit Broad, and the Painstakingly Concealed Secret Track which involved no small amount of 1337 hax0ring and genius intellect to draw out of hiding. Also, let’s not forget about the title track, which features my boys YTCracker and int80 of Dual Core. From now on, when someone asks me “what’s nerdcore” I’ll just play this song. It about sums it all up. Plus it’s a banger. Done and done. Buy it. Now. What’s wrong with you?

In closing, be sure to check out my YouTube for some recent activity. Also check out the latest from JALP and prepare thyself for a change of pace coming tomorrow. Also go get Kirby Krackle’s new album! I’m going to do a proper write up about them later, but in the meantime please read Z’s.

Reaping Beauty

Hey gang! First I’d like to thank everyone who came out to our show in Seattle and a double big thanks to Billy The Fridge for setting it up at Nectar. There was a great energy in the room and everyone was pretty amazing. Also thanks to the people who braved the extremely snowy and icy conditions to check out my set at First Night. It was crazy scary on the roads so thanks again. I had a great night that night to finish a crazy holiday season and I’m glad I can look forward to 2010 and putting the finishing touches on With Sprinkles. Also can’t wait to tell you about some of the more anticipated albums I’ll be featured on in the coming year.

Speaking of collaborations I was involved with quite an amazing one with MC Lars, Random, Tina Root, and Jason Bazinet from SMP on the production. It’s been blowing up all over the net since this morning and showing up in the oddest of places. But people seem to be digging the song and the incredible video. Check them both out right now! And if you’re so inclined please do blog/tweet/facebook/scream/flickr/myspace/geocities it to everyone you know!

Download the mp3 and/or the video here

Thanks to Lars for involving me in the track and thanks to everyone involved for making it look and sound pretty incredible. And don’t you just love that it’s free?! Night.
